Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish Review- Does It Live Up To Its Name?

You know what they say, a girls’ only helpless while her nail polish is drying! But honestly, waiting for your nail polish to dry can be oh so frustrating- especially when you accidentally smudge them after pouring just so much hard work into making them look perfect! If only they’d dry instantly (you know, like gel nails!) Then we wouldn’t have to sit around helpless waiting for them to dry! So…naturally I looked for a quick drying nail polish to try. First thing that caught my eye? The Sally Hansen Insta-Dri!

The Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish- What is it?

Made by the folks over at Sally Hansen, the Insta-Dri is available in 40 different shades and is advertised to have a speedy drying time of 60 seconds. Wait, that’s not all- according to them, you’ll also be able to achieve great coverage with a one single coat! But does it really? Well there’s only one way to find out…

My Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish Review

I felt like I haven’t bought any shades of blue in a while so that’s what I went for! I got shade #425- Blue Away, a light and pastel-ish blue color. Kind of reminds me of robin eggs! The bottle is a little smaller than what I’m used to though- only ~9mls! (To compare, OPI bottles are 15ml) But for around $3, I’ve got nothing to lose!

Cute color, right?

The Sally Hansen Insta-Dri has a very creamy consistency. There was quite a bit of polish stuck on the brush, but a quick wipe-off fixed that! The polish glided on quite nicely, and for a single coat it’s super opaque! They weren’t kidding about their color coverage. I still did two coats though, out of habit. ?

This is what the polish looked like after one coat

As you can see above, the Insta-dri looked pretty darn opaque for just one coat! Obviously it’s not perfect (you can still see uneven coverage) but still not bad. The polish also lives up to its claims of being fast drying- I purposely set a timer on my phone to test this. I gave my nails a few big swipes with my other hand 60 seconds after I applied the polish- no smudges! And…It’s drrryyy! It sure is nice to be able to do stuff with your hands after the nail polish application. ?

All done after applying the top coat!

And of course, we can’t forget about the topcoat! I used Revlon’s Extra Life No Chip Top Coat here- works great! Since the Insta-Dri dries so quickly, you really won’t be having any top coat smudging issues! The polish color really pops with a layer of top coat. ?

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish – Overall Impressions

If you’re anything like me and you hate waiting for your nail polish to dry, then you’ll love the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri! Quick drying, affordable and with great color coverage, it’s definitely worth the ~$3! (In fact, you can even get a lot of 7 for a bit over $10 on Amazon) Just remember not to apply too thick of a layer or it might just take longer than a minute to dry! ?

Nice to know! I love Sally Hansen nail polishes and this is one line from the brand that I haven’t tried yet. I’ll have to check out the color selection in my drugstore the next time I’m in there. 🙂
